Captain Dave Clements has over 30 years with the Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office. Captain Clements began his career as a Detention Deputy in 1992 before being transferred to the law enforcement bureau in 1993. He has worked as a Detention Deputy, Patrol Deputy, Patrol Training Officer (FTO/PTO), Detective, Detective Sergeant, Lieutenant (Law Enforcement and CSU-P), and Detective Lieutenant before being promoted to Captain in 2021.
Captain Clements has extensive training in the field of Crime Scene Investigation and has been nationally certified as a Medicolegal Death Investigator through the American Board of Medicolegal Death Investigators (ABMDI). He is a court-qualified expert in Bloodstain Pattern Analysis, Shooting Reconstruction (Trajectory), and Crime Scene Reconstruction. He is a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Driving for the POST Board (Police Officer Standards and Training) with the State of Colorado. Captain Clements has been teaching for the Pueblo Law Enforcement Academy (PLEA) since 2000.
Captain Clements is a graduate of the prestigious Northwestern University School of Police Staff and Command Class 511, where he served as class vice-president. He currently serves as Operations Captain in the Detention Bureau.
